Friday is generally a good day for baseball - with the teams seeded with matchups - the games tend to close and well played. This Friday proved to be the truth.
In the "friendly" at Hammond -- Team Smoke beat Dirty Dozen on a walk off hit in the 7th to win 8-7. The batter prior to the hit took one deep at Hammond and hit the top of the wall - it would have been a walk off Grand Slam HR -- but instead the batter hit a bases clearing triple -- pretty cool ending. Both teams said they had a good time in the big stadium.
In the Red Division (or lower seeds) - the #6 We are Family took care of the Nite Crawlers in a 7-0 game - the only noncompetitive game of the day. #8 40/40 Club beat #5 seed Fantasize This 6-4 in a close game throughout.
#4 seeded Leftovers took it to the #1 seed Coyote Uglies with a 8-5 win.
Our game was going to be a good one - we ended up scoring 3 unearned runs in the bottom of the 1st inning to stake us to a quick 3-0 lead - I was thinking 2 or 3 runs would do it as we had Wolfe on the mound and I was right -- we ended up getting another run in the 6th, as I came up with a jet stream hit that went to the wall in left field that scored one more run -- Wolfe shuts them down 4-0. We did have some drama as they filled the bases in the top of the 7th with 2 outs and the batter hits a screamer to left and Shane tracked it down and ended the game.
#2 Seed Game 7 takes down the Repeaters 4-0.
Matchups will be tomorrow at Hammond Stadium.

We will have a tough matchup tomorrow as Leftovers have 2 really good arms that should be ready to pitch - so we will need our best game to get the victory!
