Saturday's Championship Games (preview)

Today will be the warmest day at camp - forecast is 85 and going to guess humid and windy (like the last two days). The heat and the wind could be factors since the campers will be playing their 9th game in 6 days, a lot of tired legs and if they don't hydrate could be interesting.

Matchup today should be interesting - in the early game I really like the We are Family team - we played them on Thursday and I just thought their lineup was solid up and down. Pitching might be a weak point for them but overall a good team. They kind of get an advantage because they suffered two injuries to their "not so good" players -- so they get the benefit of not having them field and bat. The rest of the roster needs to play all the time, so no rest, let's hope it doesn't catch up. 40 40 Club - not sure who is going to pitch for them and they are 'dinged' up a bit with a number of players who either can't run or have injuries. I say We are Family wins 7-3.

In our game it is the same story I tend to write over and over again -- I like our chances but we need to score a few runs off of their presumably starter Kevin Miller. A real solid player is Kevin and hopefully the week grind has gotten to him so he doesn't have his best stuff. The pitching matchup is a push if we start Dahl (I know Viola had some other idea - maybe a committee option today), but if we put Dahl out there that would be great. Leftovers probably have the edge on defense over us, superior SS/3B combo will help them get an extra out or two that could prove to be the difference - our hitting is more consistent up and down whereas Leftovers have 6 solid hitters and it falls off the table. I think we will get our 4-5 runs as our offense is looking good, I am just a little skeptical if our defense will hold up and make the plays today against those good hitters of Leftovers. Feels like a 6-4 game today for some reason even though the pitching is going to be good, and I have to pick my team because, well, that's just my opinion man.....

This is my 9th championship game (out of 11 camp opportunities) so how ever the result ends up its been a great week.
