It's Wednesday and the weather has turned chilly - Game #5

We woke up to some real windy conditions this morning - chilly and in the 40's - it probably warmed up into the 50's as the sun peeked out shortly after the first pitch. We had Dick Bremer back on the mound today. The campers only play one game on Weds as they have a golf outing in the afternoon and it is a good time to get a break from playing doubleheaders.

We were the visiting team and we started the game out well - single, single. I came to the plate with runners on 1st and 2nd. I took the first pitch and lined it over the right center fielder's head for a stand up double. The hit and run parade was on. We scored 6 in the first. After giving back one run in the bottom of the inning we scored 6 more in the top of the first (did I tell you the parade was on?) for a 12-1 lead after two.....to spare you the details we ended up scoring 22 and winning by 20. A nice way for our bats (which have been cold) to warm up in the chilly weather that was at the ball park this morning.

The Cuban-American Connection is now 5-0 and safely going to be in the upper division playoffs on Friday. We will play two games tomorrow but we are almost guaranteed the #1 seed which gives us a good chance to play in Hammond Stadium on Saturday. Now that would be a lot of fun.

Stats: 4 for 4, 3 Runs, 2 Doubles, 4 RBI (the swing is back....)

Cumulative Hitting: 6 for 12, 5 R, 3 2B's, 5 RBI, SF, 2 BB's, 2 K's
AVG .500 OBP .571 SLG .692 OPS 1.263
Cumulative Pitching: 1-0 5.00 ERA 7 IP, 10 H, 5 R, 3 BB, K, CG

The weather doesn't look like it is going to warm up much tomorrow (maybe 60?) so stretching will be a must.
