We play 2 games on Tuesday and today is the day where teams separate themselves from being a good team to a bad team or just a down right awful team -- it correlates directly with the pitching depth. As you may recall from a previous post and why I thought some teams might struggle.
We cruised to a victory this morning with a nice 9-2 victory - we had our lone rookie throwing and he did very good after settling down - they had the bases loaded and one of the best hitters on the team - he scorched a line drive at SS -- catch and a flip throw to 2nd to double off the runner and the inning is over -- if that ball finds its way into left field may be different game.
Our afternoon game was a great one -- in fact the losing team didn't deserve it type of game (I said this going into the 7th inning) -- we jumped out to a 4-1 lead in the first -- I was throwing on the mound and it was just one of those strange games. I hit at least 4 batters -- almost every one of their hitters. But after getting the lead, Rat Poison just kept chipping away.....and eventually they tied up the game 4-4. We get into the 7th inning and we are the home team -- long story short, we loaded the bases and the pitcher walked the guy in to end the game - we win 5-4.
