It’s January – so that means baseball….in Florida

It’s………………..TIME!  Well this last year was filled with a fair amount of changes for this blogger – all pretty good but still for many change is difficult.  The one constant will be playing a little baseball this week in Fort Myers – driving to the airport this morning was….well, cold – leaving negative degree temps is easy – the forecasts suggest high 60’s and 70’s this week so let’s hope that weather forecast actually holds out. So I hit Fort Myers runway this afternoon and realize this is camp number 9.  At the airport I meet some fellow campers, many veterans, and a few rookies and remember that first camp. It was supposed to be a one time event – well now that has happened nine times! This offseason was a productive one, I stayed in relatively decent shape this year, had some nagging injuries during the summer baseball season – a back strain and a hamstring pull – so going into camp I was able to get those to items addressed and although not in any type of amazing top physical condition I did get some throwing, hitting, and workouts in over the last month. Camp is a good reason to keep in shape so it’s a great excuse to use that Lifetime fitness membership.
