Opening Night -- "Rookie Intro"

The camp kicks off with an opening night banquet, mainly served to introduce the rookies, get settled into the hotel room and be all ready for tomorrow's 'opening day'.

The opening night is always fun to shake hands of fellow baseball friends and meet new friends along the way.  This evening this blogger was tracked down by Bert Blyleven -- he had to introduce his wife, Gayle, to me.  Evidently I have a facebook/twitter fan as Gayle began to tell me how she loved the fact that I was counting down the days until fantasy camp -- "You were real excited about going to the camp this year," she remarked.
Since Bert is now in the Baseball Hall of Fame, he has ramped up his online presence - facebook, twitter and a website.  Gayle is real plugged in with the social media and probably more or less is Bert's PR rep.
You can find Bert's website at: http://circlemebert.com/
Follow him on twitter @CircleMeBertHOF and make sure you friend him on facebook as well!  They donate a proceeds of the sales to the Parkinson's association of Minnesota - a very worthy cause!

Lots of great reuniting of friends this evening -- looking forward to 9am stretching, 10am drills, and then getting a scrimmage after lunch -- the weather looks amazing this week....

Tomorrow night the teams will be announced after the Pro Staff drafts at 4pm.
