Monday games -- beautiful weather

The weather forecast looked a little chilly this morning -- temps were in the high 50's but a stiff breeze made it feel a little cool - but the sun came out right before the first pitch and the HrSamski's were ready to play.

We were matched up against the SQL's (evidently they are  now called the Squirrels) and I started the game on the mound for game 1 -- just to make the post short - we played a good game and got out in front 1-0 -- SQL came back and tied it up in the 4th 1-1 -- I thought I had a strikeout to end the inning - a nice curveball (maybe high and inside) but certainly good enough to get a strike here at camp and ended up walking him - and the next guy got a double (real nice hit) -- we added three more runs in the bottom of the 4th to give us a 4-1 lead.  Fast forward to the top of the 7th - 4-1 lead, I trot out to the mound to finish off the game - first batter reaches on an error, next batter gets on via a hit - I get the next two out and looking good.  I gave up a double and now the game is 4-2 - 2nd/3rd 2 outs and probably one of the best hitters on the team - with first base open I had an idea to possibly walk him -- but I would still need to get the next guy out anyway - so decided to pitch to him -- after strike one, got him to ground out to 2nd and the game is over - a nice play by our SS Joe to end the game - a nice first win.

Our 2nd game was ho-hum -- we played good but the opposing pitcher gave us many opportunities and we took advantage -- we ended up winning 9-2 -- a good easy afternoon game. I ended up catching two innings to finish out the game - a good fun time -- HrSamSki's are 2-0 after day one.
