Today is a good day to warm and get ready for the week -- but the rain came and it poured liked crazy - the campers were not able to take the fields today for instructionals and the rookies were not able to get their scrimmage on -- so this makes for an interesting draft -- with the Pro Staff unable to scout the new talent they will rely on sources and some BP (batting practice) that happened today to make some judgments on talent. This makes the team building process a tough one -- one side benefit of a large camp (did I mention we have like 113 campers here....) is you have more slots to fill and if you miss on one or two guys still have 11-12 other potential players. I will sound off a bit that I am a bit disappointed that I will have 13 other teammates -- it is going to make it tough to get into any rhythm on offense -- it could be a potential benefit for pitching and I am going to make a couple predictions (so the predictions before the actual team predictions....)
1) The difference between the top 2 teams and the bottom 2 teams will be HUGE (meaning it will be like the NBA -- a couple of Spurs and Warriors, and 76ers and Lakers -- shout out to Beach for the reference)
2) The games will be low scoring this week -- the pitching department seems to be in good order -- in fact at least 3 teams will have a very good (if not excellent) 1-2 pitching combos and I know one team (courtesy of family members) will have 3 good to very good pitchers available to them (I hope it's mine....hehe)
We will blog later and post the team names and my outlook for them - it will be tough for me to even guess as I have almost no clue about many of the rookies -- but I will gauge teams off of pitching and "youth" (and when I say youth -- I mean like under 55....) but I know I will be able to spot the better teams and not so good teams without too much of a problem.
A rainy sunday -- but forecast suggests sunshine and around 70 tomorrow - that would be quite lovely.
And about those Vikings.....ah nevermind. Did anyone think that FG was going through?
