Final Night Awards - Final Stats - Comments

The fantasy camp ended the evening on a high note. The campers were treated to a sit down dinner with all the players attending along with many of the pro staff.

The night began with an auction that features many great baseball memorabilia - a signed Joe Mauer and Justin Morneau bat, signed Kirby Puckett baseball, and other items. The proceeds of the auction go directly to a charity. The camp also hosted a silent auction - MW was lucky enough to score himself a Joe Crede bat with the high bid.

Awards were given out in the following categories:

Rookie of the Year (over 50 and under 50)
Gold Glove (over 50 and under 50)
MVP (over 50 and under 50)
Cy Young (over 50 and under 50)

MW was nominated for the Rookie of the Year award.
PB was nominated for the Rookie of the Year, Cy Young, and the MVP awards.

Neither MW or PB were lucky enough to take home some hardware but both of them were happy to be considered in the mix of the better players at camp.

PB's comments about his fantasy camp experience:
"If anyone loves baseball this is a one of those 'bucket list' items to do. This Twins camp is put together in such a unique manner that anyone who comes down here for the experience will not walk away unhappy. Stan Dickman (Executive Director of the Camp - www.yuratwin.com) puts together a first class operation. I truly got a feel for what it would be like to be a big league ball player at this camp. The most amazing part of the camp was the pro staff as all of them were helpful and easy to approach. The camp is for the players and it truly showed all week! I recommend this to any baseball lover - especially if you are a Twins fan or fanatic like me."
