Wednesday is the 'easy' day at camp -- just a morning game and the afternoon is open to enjoy all of SW Florida -- we were playing the top team in camp - the "Warriors" with their 4-0 record. We started our Hall of Fame pitcher, Spagnolo (Spags for short) against their lefty ace Lott. The game was another good baseball game -- in fact through 4 innings, knotted at 0-0. They got 3 runs in the top of the 5th -- Spags was not getting slick fielding and coupled with 2 bloop hits -- it was a good inning for the Warriors. We struck back with 1 in the bottom of the 6th and we head to the 7th inning to attempt a big comeback.........ok maybe not, we did get one baserunner on, but couldn't put together any kind of rally -- we lose 3-1. We drop to 2-3 overall. Spags pitched well - maybe 1 earned run and basically 1 or 2 "good" hits off of him -- a few bloopers and a few bleeders -- but well pitched, we just could not get anything going offensively -- the story of the first 5 games here.
Updated Camp Standings (unofficial....)
Warriors 5-0
Shakers 3-2
Ditch Cougars 3-2
Weapons of Destruction 2-3
Ball Berians 2-3
Wins & Saves 2-3
Oreo's 2-3
3 Amigos 1-4
At this time we would be the 4 seed -- which one could argue is the worst seed to be in the camp for Friday -- but at the same time, if you think you can beat the one seed -- then let's roll.......
