Well the weather certainly has taken a turn for the best - this afternoon the temperatures easily in the 70's - the warmest day the campers have experienced all week. MW was the starting pitcher as the Comets (who are now 5-1) have basically wrapped up the #2 or #3 seed and did not want to use their top pitching arms in this game.
MW looked good out of the gate throwing strikes - through five innings he was one error away from throwing a PERFECT Game! The Comets again raced out to an early lead by scoring 1 in the first and 3 in the second - MW had real solid defense - PB made a nice play at short - picking a grounder in the hole and firing it over to first in time to get the runner. The Comets added a couple more runs to make it 6-0 through the middle of the sixth. The bottom of the sixth was a different story - a walk, an error, a hit, and the warm weather spelled 'gassed' for MW. The Comets brought in a new pitcher and two more hits down the third base line made the score 6-4. The seventh inning came quietly and the Comets won another game and finished the round robin schedule with 6 wins versus 1 loss.
